As a successful owner of several high-class restaurants in Europe, Italian-born executive chef Ezio De Rosa, set out to bring his vision of an authentic Italian restaurant to the Alamo City. With traditional recipes handed down from earlier generations and his expertise in creating fresh new cuisine, Chef Ezio opened the original Grissini restaurant close to the Medical Center back in 1999.
San Antonio has embraced this unique concept and rewarded it with many awards such as several of the coveted "Critics Choice Award" for best Italian restaurant and many top recommendations from Texas Monthly Magazine.
Numerous NBA coaches and players have been dining at Grissini for many years and have given the highest praise to chef Ezio, such as former Spurs coach P.J. Carlesimo, who has travelled extensively and chosen Ristaurante Grissini as the only restaurant in Texas and his number one choice of his "Top Ten" Italian restaurants in NBA cities.
As a convenience to many of Grissini's loyal patrons in the Alamo Heights, Olmos Park and Terrell Hills neighborhoods, Grissini relocated to the Lincoln Heights shopping center in 2007.
